The Robert R. Frank Student-Run Free Clinic offers full service, completely free, quality primary and preventive care to uninsured patients in Detroit. The SRFC also provides essential learning opportunities to Wayne State University’s medical students, educating and preparing them to provide top-tier care as future physicians. The clinic has been offering free primary care, medications, laboratory services, and social work to our patients since 2010. We also provide our patients with access to a referral network, insurance registration assistance, and many other community services.
The clinic is entirely supported by donations and fundraisers, with 100% of our raised money going towards patient care and operational costs. Every $1 donated allows the clinic to provide $4 of healthcare spending. It is only with the support of our generous donors and sponsors in the community that we are able to fulfill our mission of providing comprehensive care to our patients free-of-charge, all in an excellent educational environment. Money raised from our golf outing will be used to purchase medication, laboratory services, and equipment that will allow our clinic to operate and expand in the coming year.
This year’s event will be held on June 24, 2017 at the beautiful Chandler Park in Detroit, MI.

Our annual golf outing will definitely be a jam-packed day with something for everyone. Registration will begin at 8 AM, and our shotgun start will be at 10 AM. Both experienced golfers and newbies will enjoy the golf scramble, which offers the chance to participate in an informal tournament on an open course. There will be plenty of opportunities to gain an edge on opponents and to win prizes, with mulligans and other surprises. For our newbies, there will be golf club rentals if you want to come out and give it a shot!
However, the Golf Outing isn’t just about golf. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be a part of the event as well. Everyone will enjoy the chance to bid on various items at our silent auction, as well as have the opportunity to take a tour of our clinic’s facilities located across the street from Chandler Park. Help us put the fun in fundraiser, and sign up today!
FOUR PERSON TEAM SCRAMBLE
EACH TEAM IS MADE UP OF 4 PLAYERS:
Women play off the “Red Tee Markers
Men and Coed play off the “White Tee Markers
EACH TEAM TRIES TO SCORE THE LOWEST TEAM SCORE FOR 18 HOLES
ALL PLAYERS DRIVE OFF EVERY TEE:
After all the team members have hit their tee shots, the team selects the best shot and all second shots are placed and played within one club length of the selected ball, not nearer the hole.
After the second shots, the best shot is selected and all third shots are placed and played within one club length of the selected ball, not nearer the hole. This procedure is repeated until the hole is completed.
For every shot, you can lift, clean and replace the selected ball.
Even in the bunker, you may lift the selected ball, rake the bunker and replace the ball.
Wherever the selected ball lies, all shots must be taken from the same area condition. For example: Fairway on fairway. Rough in rough. Bunker in bunker. Hazard in hazard.
ON THE PUTTING GREEN:
All balls must be placed not further than 4 inches from the selected ball, not nearer the hole.
All team members must putt before a second putt is taken, because: The first ball into the hole counts as the team score.
MISSING PLAYER PROCEDURE:
IF A TEAM HAS ONLY 3 PLAYERS, TO COMPENSATE FOR THE MISSING PLAYER, ON A ROTATION BASIS ONE PLAYER ON EACH HOLE MAY PLAY TWO SHOTS FOR THAT HOLE AS IF HE WERE THE FOURTH PLAYER. THE ROTATION ORDER SHOULD BE ESTABLISHED BEFORE THE FIRST TEE SHOT IS HIT. ALSO THE NUMBER OF TEE SHOTS EACH OF THE 3 TEAM MEMBERS MUST USE IS INCREASED FROM 2 TO 4.

If you use a Performance Enhancer, please put an asterisk on your scorecard for next to the hole number.
